HISTORY On October 25th a child, who would be named Meili-Lan Xiao, was born to the Fang-Li Xiao and Meifeng-Lan Yu. But unfortunately rather than being raised by them directly Meili-Lan found herself in the care of nannies instead. That was until she turned three and a half but the only reason for this change was music. It was time for Meili-Lan to continue the Xiao's and the Yu's linage of being musical prodigies. Fortunately this happened once more. But rather than wanting to pursue the already set career path, Mei found herself desiring more. That more was, being a normal kid. However it would not happen till later on. She first would have to win trophy after trophy, which never seemed to appease her parents as they seemed hell-bent on criticizing her every move. But as luck would have it Meili-Lan Xiao turned out to be a stubborn child, one who did not intend on giving up anything for anyone and wanted to be just like everyone. So, of course, like any other child Meili-Lan found her way into Dueling. It was no surprise that the young girl fell in love with the game, not to mention it gave her a reason to speak with her fellow classmates. But of course without a question or a suggestion it was taken out of her life. It was banished into a deep, dark corner and never allowed anywhere, anytime. But it was something she wanted. It was something she needed. It also would be the moment when she decided being a musician was not enough, despite the fact that her family only been musicians since her Great-Great-Great-Great-Great Grandfather, on both sides. But furthering the Xiao and Yu name was not enough. Becoming some trophy-winning something was not enough. She needed and desired the freedom that other children had, but also she wanted friends; something that she had not had much of due to the all time-consuming practices. But as luck would have it everything turned in her favor. The nearly nonexistent backbone grew in a little and her stubbornness shined through. Her next trophy meant she would be allowed to have more personal time where she could do anything she wanted. Despite wanting her to win her parents were not willing, at least not at first. But after several practice sessions of getting no where fast, Meili-Lan parents' caved. It was then after her thirteenth trophy that she would be given the freedom she wanted. It would be after that moment where she would decide to learn dueling. It would be there after she would finally develop a back-gone, somewhat but not really. It would be from there on she would find herself that much happier and content, despite the fact that she was not all too skilled with dueling or making friends. However the fact that she was learning to meant something, if not everything to her. | ||||||||
ECT. Growing up with extremely talented musicians Meili-Lan was forced to not only learn traditional dances, but also how to play various instruments. However the ones she is the most skilled at include the piano and the violin. She is also rather skilled with singing. Though all of this is unique she more often then not keeps it to herself due to her self-consciousness and rather socially inept, which people tend to perceive as modesty. | ||||||||
