◄ Plot 1, the new years tournament | Domino City is the world lead in digital technology! The city has sprung up over ten years, and boy, has it made an impact! Technology is racing forward at an incredible pace, and everyone is trying to keep up! In the wake of Domino City’s newest attraction, holograms that roam the sky, the city has found itself becoming a tourist hot spot. In order to draw in more attention and funds, Domino has agreed to host a tournament for duelists the world over! Over ten thousand duelists are now clamoring in the streets in an attempt to make it to the top 100 and proceed to the finals! Tournament Rules:
- You must duel someone every day or be disqualified! [One or two times a week OOCly]
- All duelists are given lodge and meals so long as they still qualify. Duelists are given two cards when they register. One is a card with the hotel name and room number they have been assigned, and the other is a debit card of sorts with a daily allowance of 6,000 yen [50USD] for meals and necessities.
- Duelists are encouraged to be as flashy and showy as possible! Use the holograms as much as you can! Half of the tournament is a big flashy show of the new technology!
- The highest scoring duelists of the weeks, plus fan favorites, will all be required to compete in a tag team duel every two weeks.
- Duelists entering the tournament have access to the city’s main hologram caster, allowing them to duel using holograms anywhere in the city so long as they still qualify. Upon registering, they are given a special duel disk that alerts the city's main hologram caster that a duel is about to begin. This causes the caster to sync in with the duel and apply holograms for them. The duel monster holograms can be controlled via the duel disk, allowing duelists to manipulate and make their duels as showy, frightening or grand as possible by not only making the monsters do things but also allowing them to create atmosphere effects such as rain, thunder and hail.
- Duelists will only be granted access to the Caster during duels.
- Duelists who lose a total of three times during the tournament are disqualified!
- On New Years, a new rule will be announced to spice up the competition! The tournament actually ends on the Chinese New Years btw.
NPC's Associated with the Tournament- Dark Magician Girl, A hologram of the popular and cute monsters has been created. She'll appear at random in duels of interest and act as an announcer. She is an AI apparently, another way Domino is showing off their state of the art digital technology. She announces all updates, rankings and other important information about the tournament.

◄ THE DOMINO CITY LIGHTS |
Something strange is going on in Domino City. As the tournament kicks off, there are hushed rumors of a strange phenomenon taking hold in the air at night. Every night, at exactly midnight, golden and blue orbs appear at seemingly random places in the city for several minutes. No one quite understands what these are, and the city hasn’t claimed responsibility for them. Witnesses say the lights give off a warmth. Could these orbs be a glitch in the city’s hologram system? Are they work of the Hologram Caster or something more?
