◄ da rules! follow 'em please |
1 Be respectful of other players at the very least. You don’t have to like everyone on the site, but try not to disrespect other members. 2 If you think an Admin or a staff member has made a mistake, politely PM them about it. Do not call them on it like you’re a referee. Do not argue with the staff. Period. Do not pester the staff to do things either, and please remember, staff are humans as well. 3 Please try to keep your characters as realistic as possible for the setting we’re in. 4 You do not need to know how to duel in order to join. We have two plots running, one focusing on dueling and one focusing on mysterious lights appearing in the city. While both plots may cross each other's paths, you do not have to duel in the second one. In your character sheet there is a small slot asking if you are a duelist or not. This is an OOC question. If you choose "No," your character may be a duelist ICly, but they will not be allowed to partake in tournaments. However, should they partake in a plot event against an NPC, the character will be allowed to duel. The outcome will be decided by the throw of a dice. That being said, should you join and want to learn how to duel, we're happy to help you learn. 5 This is a semi-literate site, meaning we require at the very least 150 words per post. This is to ensure your RP partner gets something to work with when replying. 6 On this site we use both the OCG and TCG. You will have to personally ask your opponents which they are using and agree upon a platform. When dueling you have two options. One is to use DevPro, a dueling program you can download and put your decks on. This is known as an automatic duel. We recommend this program as it automatically follows all the rules and updates. You can download it at this website. A guide to DevProcan be found here. The other option is to duel on a website like Duelnetwork or on the forums themselves. This is known as a manual duel. However, be warned, these methods do not automatically regulate the rules of the game. If you and another player choose to duel manually, you must trust each other to adhere to the rules. If you and this other player come to a disagreement, settle it between yourselves. If a manual duel takes longer than four days to complete, staff may intervene to keep the thread going at a smooth pace. This is especially true of plot related duels. 7 Do not post anywhere aside from character creation before being approved. 8 Godmodding, Powerplaying, Mary Sues and Metagaming are not permitted on the site. If you don’t know what these are, a quick google search will give you plenty of definitions and examples. 9 If something is against the Proboards TOS, it certainly isn’t welcome here on the site. Any M rated scenes must fade to black. They can be continued through an IM system or whatever, but do not RP them out on the site. Don’t even PM them to each other. 10 Do not stretch the board with your posting templates, signatures, ect. They will be deleted without warning if they stretch the board. Remember that the background of the site is white, so avoid using bright colors for your text when posting. 11 Characters are only allowed to have one deck when they start. They are allowed a second deck at 50 posts, and a third one at 125 posts. They may, however, exchange cards in their deck before hitting 50 posts, but not enough to make it into a completely different deck. At 25 posts, someone can completely overhaul their deck. Once deck listings are posted up, the threads will be moved to the approved deck list. We are also only allowing 3 of each type of archetype currently. The number of allowances will go up as we get more members. Your deck will not be usable in character until it is approved. 12 When editing your decks, please reply in your deck thread letting us know what was taken out and put in. Remember to follow the rules on deck editing. 13 Here on Domino City Lights, we allow Liquid Time. This means you can be in multiple threads at once, just make sure to keep what happened first in order. 14 Please try to use third person when posting. It helps keep the site using organized and neat. This is more of a soft rule, as I wont be heavily enforcing it, but try to remember this when posting. 15 Please fill out your miniprofile. This can be found under personal profile edits. You can find a quick guide to the miniprofile here. |
