PERSONALITY Louise seems to be a cheerful, intelligent girl who really enjoys dueling at first glance. Although if you looked more closely, you might notice some darker aspects to her personality. Is Louise as nice as she appears to be, or is it simply a mask? Perhaps those hidden traits are nothing more then a part of her act to appease the crowd. The truth is hidden deep within her performance.

HISTORY Louise was born to a poor family on the outskirts of Silvershine City, a very big city that was well known for its booming businesses and for sporting some of the most advance dueling institutions in the world, the most notable of which was the esteemed Hawthorne academy. Louise's childhood was normal enough, the day she turned 8. Louise's mother had contracted a disease without even realizing it when she was younger, since she didn't have the symptoms associated with the disease. Louise's mother was lucky and got a latent strain of the sickness. That changed when it was passed on to Louise. Louise grew ill, although her parents didn't think it was serious at first. Then the symptoms started getting worse, and she was rushed to the hospital. They managed to get Louise treatment, but not before the disease made her deaf. A distraught Louise was forced to learn new things just to deal with her current predicament. She still could talk using words since she had been doing it for a few years, but she was no longer able to learn how to say new words properly. She needed to learn sign language, how to read lips, and many other things to help her get used to her lifestyle. One of the things taught to her was the game of duel monsters. Louise's therapist decided that Louise should use the game as an outlet for all her pent up emotions. Louise came to love the game, and knew exactly what she wanted to be when she grew up. This dream would be difficult to obtain though, since all the money her parents spent on her treatment made them almost destitute. It took them years just to get back to where they were. Even with her high intelligence, she couldn't get into the extravagant dueling schools that her city had. Despite everything against her though, Louise did her best to pursue her career. She watched professional duelests on T.V., she participated at hobby store tournaments, slowly and painfully built her deck. She wasn’t even entirely hopeful that things would turn out well, but she was determined to follow her dreams. Things finally paid off for her when she won a Jr. Regional in the city. All of a sudden, she was invited to the major tournament in Domino, said to be the biggest in the world! However, she had two problems though. She didn’t have the money, and she would have to convince her parents. Convincing her parents was a bit difficult, but in the end they relented, her mother thinking that this opportunity to pass this up, and her father ultimately not caring too much about it. As for the money needed, she got it by selling the very rare prize card she got for winning the tournament, along with a few other cards that she didn’t need. Louise’s mother managed to barely scavenge up enough money, and soon enough they were on their way to the site of the tournament, Louise in very high spirits. She would do fantastic… and show them all what she was truly capable of. | ||||||||
ECT. - Louise is deaf, and uses a mix of her voice and her sign language to communicate. She is only able to say words she knew up to the age of 8, and while she is a very smart girl, her vocabulary is stilted compared to the average person if she doesn't use her sign language. - Louise is able to read lips, which allows her to pick up conversations from a fair distance away without most people realizing it. Louise usually keeps this secret to herself to use to her advantage. Since she's able to talk, most people she encounters don't realize she is deaf, often mistaking her sign language for nervous ticks. - Louise usually carries a stuffed bear she calls Billy Ruxpin. I'll give a cookie to whoever manages to guess which two bears he's named after. | ||||||||
